Aromasin (Exemestane) is a prescription drug that has found its application in treating various types of breast cancer. Women who have gone through their menopause use Aromasin to treat their estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer. All postmenopausal females should also have completed 2 to 3 years of tamoxifen treatment. The primary role of Aromasin is to lower estrogen levels in the body. This particular hormone is required in high levels to facilitate the advancement of breast cancer and certain breast tumors. So, Exemestane acts by preventing cancers from coming back.
